Projects & Templates

Abbyy FlexiCapture works in Projects and then within each project, specific Templates. As an example you can create a project for invoices. Within this project you can create different templates including flexible templates that look for information on the page no matter where it is. You can also also easily read fixed information as well. This means templates can be designed to read the invoices from your key suppliers and there is also the ability to read line items within the invoice. The projects and templates structure means Abbyy can be used for endless types of documents in your business - not just your accounts department data. Marketing might use it for reading feedback surveys, sales might need it for commission forms and HR might use it for application forms.   • BACK END - The back end and front end of Abbyy are polls apart. Behind the scenes the amount of capability is awesome.This is a well refined program suite and requires training or consultancy to get the program set up and working the way you need it.   • USER EXPERIENCE The user experience though is intuitive and easy to use. Once the project is opened, there is a four stage process to successful exporting of the required index data -
  • Import / Scan - Abbyy FlexiCapture can control your scanner through Twain or ISIS and a profile can be created for successful scanning results. Alternatively documents can be imported from a folder or a folder set up to monitor new files and import them as they are found.
  • Recognition - The documents individually need to be recognised and matched against a template - if you are scanning a mixed batch of the morning post, this could mean letters are identified and separated from invoices or sales orders.
  • Validation - The content of the documents are now read and validated with the user. This is where an operator can quickly work their way through a batch confirming or changing data until accuracy is 100%. If you are keying in documents manually at the moment, your existing process could be reduced substantially.
